Jim Western works with a team of 27 staff members under him consisting of trainers and massager to care for 47 professional footballers playing in the Australian Football League under the Australian rules football. This game is the most prestigious in Australia national competition which culminates in the annual AFL Grand Final, currently the fourth highest attended club championship event in the world.
Injuries are a common occurrence in high contact sport like the Australian rules football, the game allow sports trainers to be mobilized on the field to attend to traumatic injuries without having to stop the game. Each team is allowed 6 such trainers to be positioned round the pitch. This is a 120 minutes game consisting of 4 quarter of 30 minutes each, half time is a 15 minutes rest.
